Lutoslawskia kuunnellessa 2.

Back to my own music. I recorded some tracks to my composition Lutoslawskia kuunnellessa 2. (= While listening to Lutoslawski 2.). Keyboards and percussion are done. Later I'll add more instruments and Sini'll sing the vocal parts... The song was inspired by Witold Lutoslawski's (1913 - 1994 ) Concerto for Orchestra. I like modern concert music quite a lot...

And the day was almost warm.

Early this morning while walking by a brook I found the sculpture above. - Improvisages, well sort of, played a concert with a female choir in local church in Aanekoski. Jori conducted the whole and played some piano. I played flute, recorders and some percussion. There was an organ player, too. Mostly religious music. The whole was nice anyways. And I was allowed to improvise. (Juha H.)

Some of them first flowers of Spring. - And the day was quite nice - some walking, some resting and so much working with my music... I recorded all instruments to my composition Valiaika G:sta ( =Intermission in G). It's going to be in between parts 1. and 2. of the two compositions related to the music of Witold Lutoslawski. This is what Sini's been up to recently. Well, some craftsmanship. - Now I've recorded almost twenty tracks of different instruments to go with my song Lutoslawskia kuunnellessa I (= While Listening to Lutoslawski). ( Juha H.)

And finally today I began working with my next musical project and recorded a couple of keyboard tracks to my song Lutoslawskia kuunnellessa I (=While listening to Lutoslawski 1.). Some weeks ago I wrote a poem, well sort of, while listening to Concerto for Orchestra composed by Witold Lutoslawski (1913-1994). Then next day I composed them words... I was so impressed because of Lutoslawski's music that I wrote some more poems. And at least one more is already composed.

Now I've recorded all my parts for two PenaT compositions. Sini sang the Wedding waltz today and I mixed the whole. And after that I had the time to record all the instrumental parts, woodwinds and percussion, for Pena's Christmas song. Not much left to be done , only Sini's singing and some mixing...

Children of Bodom

Today we travelled to Tuuri and back. Jopo was our chauffer. And while travelling there and back it was mostly Children of Bodom. We listened to their latest album Blooddrunk, which was released last tuesday - and then some more Bodom.... Well, well - travelling three hundred kilometers and listening to mighty heavy metal is fine and ok... Well, actually while travelling there and back it was also some Sonata Arctica... Anyways - nice joyrneying.

Back home - it was time for some Deep Purple and their album Fireball.

Otra Vez

Otra Vez played a very nice concert in Suolahtisali. This time they had a singer with them, Argentinian Martin Alvarado. Music was more or less in the vein of Tango Concertante or Tango Nuevo - some Astor Piazzolla compositions, some Finish Tangos and some pieces composed by the band members. Talented musicians playing interestingly arranged music with a good singer. And of course they improvised, too. - Tango was born in Argentina some hundred years ago. But it is probably very true that there is no other country than Finland where it has been so hugely meaningful and popular - well of course except Argentina...

Rainy day - music all evening. Recorded drums and flute for Pena T's Wedding song. And later began working with his Christmas song. Now is quite a convenient time to tackle with such music... There's no hurry to get everything done very soon. Christmas is not yet here. Anyways keyboards and some melody lines are done.

Improvisages rehearsed with a female choir and an organ player. Jori conducted the whole and played his Nord Stage Piano and some Roland Handsonic. I played flute, recorders and of course Handsonic. Something different coming.

But now I'm absolutely tired.

Began recording a Wedding waltz. It's composed by Pena T. Lyrics are his, too. The whole is very traditional and I'll try to do it that way... Well I do have freedom to arrange and orchestrate the song. I already wrote some counter-melodies, too... Now only drums, flute and Sini's singing are missing.
