And this sunday was so nice. Some resting, some walking and quite alot of music. I recorded flute, alto recorder, alto sax and Sini's singing... Then some mixing and bouncing pieces of music to HardDisk. Two ready songs is a good day's work...

Lauantai

Evening is here. I'm relaxed and quite happy - after recording percussion instruments for some hours... It is so nice to hit something with a musical rhythm. - Well, well- when I was young I did every now and then play gigs with percussion instruments, too. But for real I'm not any drummer. Simple situations I can try to manage...

Finally today I really realized that the flute I acquired earlier this week - Miyazawa - is a real jewel and wonder.

Pekka Pohjola

Bass player extraordinaire and composer Pekka Pohjola died last night. So sad. When I was young I did admire his playing and music quite alot. And I still do! He was a great bass guitar virtuoso and especially a wonderful composer. His music was mostly jazz-rock. But he could arrange music very well within many different genres, too. And remarkable were his basslines - sometimes so beautifully simple and when needed fast. And he wrote at least one real symphony. Musicians with whom he performed and recorded? Of course he played with many Scandinavian masters. And he made music with Mike Oldfield - and was almost Frank Zappa's bass player...

And what I did today with my own music? I recorded bass guitar...

Miyazawa

Wow. Nice day. Finally I got my all new and shining Miyzawa-flute. At the moment I've played it only for some half an hour. But already it feels so nice - so good!! This is very wonderful. After blowing it for a few days I'll know its real worth. And I believe I'm going to be even happier than now.

Brook Monster. - The snowstorm last night wasn't any bad, here. But in Southern Finland it did wreak some havoc. And now Swedes suffer from it... All evening playing and recording music. (Juha H.)

Nice sunday. Much of the day playing and writing music. J-V was here and recorded three guitar solos for as many of my songs. Nice! I mixed them all and bounced to HardDisk.

There is a snowstorm raging outside. It seems that it's not as bad as the weather forecaster said... But it may be that during the coming night it'll get worse.

Yesterday. FWD played a gig in Viitasaari. Hard Rock for fun! It's very refreshing to do that kind of music every now and then.

Today. Rain keeps on coming - well, actually its only more like a drizzle at the moment.

Right now after sauna I'm quite relaxed and happy . Soon I'll be tired because lately I've slept so little. Sleep is good.

All evening I once again just and only recorded different instruments - mostly woodwinds - into ProTools. And then mixed them. Later Sini sang her part - one take and that was it. Hopefully J-V can record a guitar solo next weekend...

Kristalliyö

Kristallnacht memorial day. Exactly 70 years ago happened - or actually was more or less organized - the first dreadful sign of the coming Holocaust. During one night and the day after some 90 jews were killed, 100 synagogues burned and 20000 - 30000 thousand jewish men were sent to concentration camps in Germany. Europe and the world was on a collision course heading to the World War II ... I truly hope that such events won't come again anymore - not ever.

Today I had time just and only to play flute and tenor sax for some 2 - 3 hours. That's way too little!! Some days are like this. There were way too many other obligations. Anyways I'm quite happy and ok.

All evening recording percussion instruments. It's so hard. I'm really not any drummer. So I have to be extra careful. Well, and do some more takes than just one or two.

Americans chose Barack Obama as their next president. Congratulations! I sincerely hope this is a change for better - both for America and the rest of the world.
