Ruins from Capernaum, Israel. Sini and I are back from our journey to Middle East - Israel and Jordania. We saw  rain, sleet, sandstorms and history so layered... All in all everything was very interesting and enlightening , very much so. (Juha H.)

Cold weather still bites with its cold, cold teeth. This morning the temperature had dropped down to -30 Celcius degrees - before the Sun warmed us a bit. Slowly, so slowly the Spring is coming. There's more and more light every day. (Juha H.)

While walking with Sini on the icy cover of Lake Keitele  earlier today. And it was freezingly cold, - 33 Celcius degrees. (Juha H.)

Maple's wintry blossoming. This morning the temperature did drop pretty low -   -32 Celcius degrees. Days are bright, sunny, beautiful and very cold.  (Juha H.)

Winter's day in my backyard. The weather is a bit cold  -    -25 Celcius degrees this morning.

And in the other news - Yesterday Dead Beat Society (a.k.a. InterGalactic Folk Orchestra  and  a.k.a. Cookie in the Jar)  had a longish 5-6 hours rehearsal in Jyvaskyla. There are gigs coming later this year. Very nice! (Juha H.)

Sini ja Silikkitie

Sini on the "Silkroad". Path across frozen Lake Keitele is open. It shortens our walking to the center of our little town from 4 kilometers to mere 1 kilometer. Never in my life "the opening" has been so late... (Juha H.)

Pensas rannalla

Frozen bush on the bank of Lake Keitele. There was a mighty storm earlier this week in Finland. Actually it rampaged quite badly Norway and Sweden, too. There were hundreds of thousands of people for days without electricity -  especially in Southern Finland . We had no blackouts though it was close... But after those storming days the banks of  Lake Keitele looked like the pic above. I made a video, too. It can be seen here. (Juha H.)
