Musaa ja Neal Asher

One more day working with my music. And so I recorded some Sini's singing, some recorders and flute. Well, and of course keyboards... An ordinary Sunday.

I began reading Orbus written by Neal Asher. Hard Science-Fiction. There's some fast action, weird aliens and strange AI coming this way...

Lauantain keikka

And there was a gig Sini, Hanna-Maaria and I went to hear and see. Reino-orkesteri played some rock/older-dance-music standars and some songs composed by Ari Liimatainen. Ari is a multi-talented artist. He's a fantastically fine visual artist, writer of really weird stories and composer. ( Well, he's a bass player,too...) Serious fun - that's what he really is!

At home we watched a movie - This Is It. I'm impressed, very much so. Michael Jackson was so talented...

Musaa, musaa ja Porcupine Tree

All evening I've worked with my music. And thus I recorded some recorders and some synths...

Earlier today I did the same - worked with my music. That's the way it goes.

Right now Porcupine Tree are playing - through my living room's PA - their DVD Arriving Somewhere. Earlier this week I acquired the band's latest CD - The Incident. After listening to it I was very impressed. Well, who wouldn't be when the final words of the whole, of a concept album are: " When I'm down I drive the hearse." - Is this fun or something even more hilarious?

Pakkanen vaimenee

During the coming weekend it seems very likely that this horrendous cold is going to loosen its grip. I very much hope so. If I remember right it's been some 25 years since the weather's been so cold.

Now's the time to play some Stratocaster.

Tallennusta

Wojciech Toklowicz, a violinist and composer from Poland was here. I recorded his music, his songs that he had created based on poems of Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen. Mister poet was here, too. And there were also two female singers who did much of the work. Many hours of toiling and six songs got recorded and mixed. That's a real good day's work. I'm a bit tired and yet quite happy. Later I am supposed to record more music for this project and some of the songs is Sini going to sing.

Pakkanen vain jatkaa

Frost keeps on biting. Yesterday it was here -34 Celsius degrees. Today it was merely -25 Celsius degrees. So there's some sort of a warming of weather coming... This Winter has been quite hellish up here in the North. Anyways after some weeks the Spring must come ... Well, well tomorrow - there's a snowstorm coming...

Musiikki jatkuu

All day I've just worked with my music. I did record so many tracks of synths and percussion into ProTools. I've studied ProTools. There are immense possibilities...!

And while walking today with my iPod I listened to Mike Keneally and his wonderous album Beer for Dolphins. Serious fun!

Tallennusta

Jouko T was here. And here was also an accordion player - Elina Kallio. She recorded seven tracks for as many songs written by Jouko T. The playing itself was quite well executed. Now the Tommy Tabermann music-and-poetry-project is almost recorded. Only some poetry reciting is missing.

While walking today I listened with my iPod some Pat Metheny - American Garace. Happy music makes walking a joy.

Keikalla taas

Gospel Sisters and Brothers played a concert in Saarijarvi. This time the venue was a big wooden church. Acoustically the gig was very interesting. I videoed the whole. Now I might watch some of it.

Nauhoittamista taas

Maija P was here. I recorded her reciting the poetry of Tommy Tabermann. Most of the recitations are going to be part of songs written by Jouko T but some are going to be stand alone poems...

In the evening I did some more recording. Actually I banged quite many percussion tracks for my own music.

Nauhoittamista

Today I recorded quite many different instruments with ProTools. Well, recorder, flute, percussion and Sini reciting poetry.

While walking I like to listen to music with my iPod. For a couple of days it's been Jon Hassell and his strangely interesting electronica recording from the 1980-ies Power Spot.
