Autumn leaf. - It's been so long since I played Classical music. ( If I remember correctly Improvisages played some Erik Satie four, five years ago...) Today I rehearsed with a violinist and pianist. And it felt so good!! Jarnefelt, Hannikainen and Schubert. There are some gigs coming. (Juha H.)

Improvisages keikalla

Improvisages LIVE. We performed in the Spektri Art Gallery as a duo this time. There are some Ari's paintings in the backround. Half and half - written and totally improvised music. Nice anyways.

FC Konemiehet won the local football Cup today, again like a year ago. After the Improvisages gig Sini and I had some time and watched the final matches. Some soccer fun!

And in the evening there was a very interesting concert in Aanekoski. Improvised music performed by a French trio Amarco - alto violin, cello and double bass. Some Bartok, some gesture (?) jazz and lots of good improvised music. (Juha H. ; Photo: Sini)

Improvisages

Improvisages rehearsed jazz, jazz and jazz. It's been quite long since we've played real jazz. We've made music with different styles - our own compositions, free improvisations , classical music, experiments with paintings etc... But for a few years - no real jazz. Yes it was very nice, a bit like coming home...

Sibelius 6 ja sadetta

Rainy day. - Finally I got Sibelius 6. And of course I installed it on my studio's main computer. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! And soon after the installation I notated my first piece of music for some time... Well, it wasn't a breeze. It's been so many years I used Sibelius before today. But slowly I got it back - at least abit of it. After the first short stint of using Sibelius Notation Software again I'm very, very pleased! (Juha H.)

Peaceful evening. - Improvisages had a very nice rehearsal. There are some gigs coming. Jori and I mostly just improvised. That is always the best! We played also some of my compositions and some standards, like Stars Fell On Alabama. Ari was here, too - though at the first coming gig we don't have his paintings performed... (Juha H.)

Peter F. Hamilton

Finally after more than a yearlong waiting I got Peter F. Hamilton's book The Evolutionary Void. (Thanks Play!) This is the final part of the Void Trilogy. Some very interesting times ahead.

Music news. I'm recording the sixth song based on Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen's poetry. Sini has already sung five of them. And there are a couple of guitar solos missing from two other songs. We're waiting for you J-V.
