Improvisages renaa

Improvisages today - second rehearsal for a coming concert. Jori Mäenpää (keys), Mika Satosaari (guitar, bass guitar), Sini Hintikka ( vocals, visuals), Jaska Liimatainen (drums, percussion) and Juha Hintikka (woodwinds, percussion etc). Maija Piitulainen is also part of our forthcoming happening. (Juha H.)

East Side Gallery, Berlin

Back from Berlin. Above a photo,  a tiny little part of  the East Side Gallery, probably the longest Art Gallery in the whole world. And that's what's left from the Berlin Wall.   Sini and I stayed for three days in the wonderful capital of Germany. Very, very enjoyable stay. There was so much to see. (Juha H.)

Improvisages ja joutsenet

Swans,  a couple of them. - One more Improvisages LIVE video can be found here. The music is recorded in Suolahtisali, Finland. Photos - flowers, flowers - were added later.

Suolahtisali is the best concert hall in Central Finland and Improvisages has been honoured and privileged to perform there so many times. During the 1990-ies we used to rehearse there...

Musaa ja matkailua

I've been quite busy lately. Lots of work with photos. I've been choosing and fixing pics for the next Improvisages concert... Now it's done.

What about music? Well, I added these to my iPod - Flying Colors (their first and just released CD), Ian Anderson's Thick as a Brick 2 (You know Jethro Tull?), Emilia Lajunen's Turquoise Bicycle ( Modern Finish Folk Music...) and some of my own stuff...

Tomorrow Sini and I are going to Tallinn, Estonia. Jan Garbarek Group with Trilok Gurtu is performing there on Saturday. Nice, very nice!!

Piirustus

Yesterday I found some drawings and water colours I draw and  painted some 30 plus years ago. Above one of them. Today I created a video based on those pics and a piece of music I wrote and recorded some weeks ago. The compilation can be found here. (Juha H.)

Joulukuusen hakeminen

Sini and I trekked into deep forest to meet Toropainen and get us a Christmas tree. I had a camcorder with me and filmed the whole trip... Back home it took merely some three hours to compose a piece of music to go with the visual adventure, record it and edit the video. Now it's ready and can be seen here. (Juha H.)

Back from Helsinki. There Sini and I went to Kiasma and we experienced a wonderful exhibition of African Art. Above one example. (Juha H.)

D3 Lexip/Pixel 3D

Talvimaisema

Winter scene. - Yesterday Sini and I were in Tampere. Very nice place to visit every now and then. This time we went to an Art Exhibition( Anne Tuori), saw a movie (The King's Speech), met friends and with them we went to a Blues Concert. All was very nice and uplifting. (Juha H.)

Above most of the CDs and DVDs I did last year - 2010. On some of them I was merely a recording engineer - with some I did pretty much everything. Some DVDs/CDs are released officially, some are more or less for private use... (Juha H.)
