Sini ja Juha Hintikka - Muinaisia tarinoita

New CD in iTunes,  HERE.  The whole is based on traditional Finnish poetry - Kanteletar.
Finns have two magnificent books of folklore. Kalevala is a heroic story of men and their adventures - and the greatest hero is a singer and musician. Kanteletar is filled with predominantly poems of women - created by them, too.   (Juha H.)

Musaa

Maija P was here. I recorded her reciting poetry - once again. Some hours of work and a whole book of poems was done. Later I'll add some of my music to go with the words. Actually the poems where quite good. Unfortunately it seems that the whole is for more or less private use. Time will tell. (Juha H.)

Runoutta ja musiikkia

I made a video - Maija P reciting a poem of Eino Leino. I filmed the whole with Nikon D5100. The quality of sound is not that good but luckily the visual quality is quite ok. This morning I wrote the little piece of music to go with the video and later recorded it with Pro Tools. And it can be found here.

Runoutta ja musiikkia

Maija P was here. I once again recorded her reciting poetry of Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen. Six poems. And after she left I wrote, recorded and mixed some music to go with the poems. Now all six are done and bounced to Disk.

Even later Veikko-Kalevi visited. We had a nice chat about forthcoming projects.

Tomorrow Sini and I are going to travel to Tallinn, Estonia - once again. There's some folk music and an organ concert waiting for us.

Takapihan kukkia

Spring flowers from my backyard. - Yesterday I mastered one musical project and burned the whole on CD. My songs and texts for Sini. Today I began a new musical adventure and recorded first tracks for the first song of the next project. Poems are written by Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen. (Juha H.)

Ranta

Shore. - Today I composed three songs. The poems were written by Veikko-Kalvei Riihinen. Now I've composed fourteen songs for our next joint venture. At the moment they are mere thoughts on paper. Later this spring I'll begin to record them. Nice days ahead. (Juha H.)

Miksaamista

Most of the evening I just and only mixed lullabyes. Ten songs are done and that's quite alot. There are five more compositions to go... Lullaby CD is going to be an add on for a poetry book. All should be ready before May this Spring.

Vuoden tekemiset

Above most of the CDs and DVDs I did last year - 2010. On some of them I was merely a recording engineer - with some I did pretty much everything. Some DVDs/CDs are released officially, some are more or less for private use... (Juha H.)

Barge. - Wojciech Toklowicz was here today. I recorded him with a singer and pianist - three nice pieces of music.

Valo-projekti

Pudonneet lehdet

Fallen. - During the evening I recorded some more music for the forthcoming musical narratives of Improvisages. This time I combined an improvised clarinet and piano duo with Ari's weird and wonderful story of a man who wrote an aphorism... And what happens then? Actually the ending of the story is a bit cryptic. How did I solve the problem? Well, I added two, three tracks of percussion instruments to go with rest... (Juha H.)

Uusi alku

New begining. Today I recorded first tracks for my next musical project. Some keyboards, some woodwinds are done for the first song of the next musical adventure. During the winter - in December and January - I composed approximately 20 poems written by Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen. Now has come the time to make the sheet music sing!!

Linnut asuvat...

Someday soon birds are going to live here. - Now after some arduous work with Maija P's DVD-project... I'm happy and I can sigh with relief. The end result - compilation of poems, pics and music - is quite ok. Everything is done and burned to Disk. (Juha H.)
