Today I've written lots of music, almost ten songs. That's really quite an enormous amount of paperwork. It seems that my next musical project is possibly half-done. Well, to record all the music takes at least some weeks. But the writing process is proceeding nicely...

Sini is in Parnu, Estonia. She'll be there for a few days.

KeiteleJazz 2008 ohi onnellisesti

Small but fine Keitele Jazz Festival is over - a few days of good music. Yesterday e.g. DavidMurray was quite fantastic. He truly is an extraordinary tenor sax player. Well, and mighty he is with bass clarinet, too. Today I added some photos here.

Machine Men eilen

Yesterday began Keitele Jazz Festival 2008 and the first evening was for heavy metal. Above Machine Men performing. The festival is a musical mixture of some different styles of music - heavy metal, rock, blues and real jazz. Four nights and four concerts - plus some club gigs. - I added some photos here. Unen taivas

All day I worked with my music. Yesterday evening I began the recording of Unen taivas (=Dream Sky). Sini rehearsed today the song and I recorded her singing... Now the whole is done and bounced to HardDisk - four-and-a-half minutes of music.

Dead Cult Diaries ja Suolirock 2008

Dead Cult Diaries and their first gig ever. Strongly sung and played - very well executed metal. Really good musicians! All their material was composed by the band-members except one Wasp song. On the left J-V of Machine Men. Antony of the same band sang one song with DCD. - Dead Cult Diaries was one of the groups that performed at Suolirock in Sumiainen. (Juha H.)

Pori Jazz 2008

Return To Forever. They're finally back - at least for this one tour. Yesterday they were at the Pori Jazz Festival. And so mightily they played. I especially liked Romantic Warrior. Today they'll be recording a Live-DVD at the Montreux Jazz Festival. (Juha H.)

Metro performing nicely. Very good musicians! And while they played Chick Corea walked on stage and took some close-up photos of the band members with his small digital camera. While Metro played and Randy Brecker was not blowing his trumpet he took many photos of other band members with his digital camera and quickly put it back in his pocket. Fun with fine music! Water-lily blossoming. - All day I worked recording my music. And it was soo nice! Tomorrow Sini and I'll go to PoriJazz Festival 2008. Return to Forever is there and then some more. (Juha H.)

Tom Waits

Oouh how wonderful it is to listen to Tom Waits. His music is some sort of an odd mixture of blues, jazz and rock with a bit hoarse-singer-songwriter. And underneath of those oh! so sad songs there is a happiness - happiness that somehow holds in its hand pretty much everything in a very small but so touching way. Beautiful...

Yesterday I updated, well upgraded my Norton Internet Security... Ever since Firefox's been acting strangely. This is ugly for this computer I'm writing right now - my main Internet access machine. There was nothing else I changed. But now my favorite Internet tool is in a miserable condition... - After this incident I decided to get rid of Norton on my other computers and install some cheap alternatives to protect them from the evils of the outside world...

Rest of the day - just music and some photographing.

Eino Leino

Yesterday. Sini standing in front of the statue of Eino Leino (1878-1926). Leino was/is one of the most important poet in Finland. And Sini likes quite alot his poetry. Today the flags are flying in honour of Eino Leino. (Juha H.)

Takaisin Hesasta

Flowers from my backyard. - Back from Helsinki. Sini and I did a one day trip there. Nice travelling by bus. I had ample time to read science-fiction short stories. Right now my living room PA is playing a CD - The Enchantment by Chick Corea and Bela Fleck. Happy, happy and relaxed music!! (Juha H.)
