Taiteellista

Maija P was here. We rehearsed our next gig together. It's going to be - poetry, music and photos - LIVE. Poems are written by Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen and Maija is going to recite them. Music is written by Jori and me - and of course there is alots of improvisation involved to go with the poems and pics. Photos are taken by me. And we'll need someone to show them pics - that is going to be Sini . So MultiArtPerformedLive.

And later in the evening Sini and I listened to a band called The Plastic Explosives. Progressive Heavy Metal and very nice music. Thank you so much.

All evening I fixed, organized and unclutterd my little studio. Now was the time to do it and now many things are in better order, like less dirt...

Earlier today Sini and I rehearsed a bit for forthcoming performances.

First I recorded six or seven tracks of different instruments into ProTools. And then I chose a few hundred of my photos to go later with music performed live... Many hours of work. So what? That's the way it goes.

Musaa ja musaa

Very Nais Quartet and FWD a.k.a. Gospel Sisters and Brothers had a longish rehearsal, some five hours in Suovanlahti, Viitasaari. And it was quite fun. My part was to improvise for the most with flute, tenor sax and percussion. I was pretty free to do quite anything within the music though I had to keep it relatively simple because the compositions itself were that. It is not fitting to play alots of fast notes when what surrounds you is slow, non-complicated and relaxed.

Winter and cold weather is finally here. Right now the temperature outside is -15 Celsius degrees.

Jouko T ja Tommy Tabermann

Jouko T was here with so many singers. We made some progress with his Tommy Tabermann project. Some singing and especially quite many tracks of flute recordings are done. Anna played so marvelously her chosen instrument. It was a pleasure to work with her.

Hoikkaset toas

Ensemble Hoikkaset played a gig again. And it was for the veterans of the WWII, again. This time we had a second accordion player and a singer, Satu Rantanen with us. And after a nice gig some very tasty food - again.

In the evening Jyvaskyla Sinfonia played a concert in Suolahtisali. Mozart, Mozart and Mozart.

Ensemble Hoikkaset played a gig today for local veterans of the WWII. We performed Christmas carols for the most. And on top of that - some very tasty food. Nice.

Pasuunapelimannit

Pasuunapelimannit played a gig, well actually our music was part of bigger festives. Today is the 92th birthday of Finland. We performed at the official party of Aanekoski. Some Finnish folk, some military marches.

After the party I had time to edit yesterday's Improvisages concert video. And I added Jori's composition Reino with all Ari's visuals to go with - here.

Improvisages

Improvisages played and performed a gig today. Ari showed his paintings - 350 pics - with a laptop and data projector on a white wall. Jori played his trusty Nord Stage 88. And I played flute, recorder, Akai EWI, alto sax, Roland Handsonic, laptop... So nice it was to do our thing LIVE! Hopefully tomorrow I can add an excerpt here...
