More music for other people and that's quite good. Anni was here and I recorded her singing a song composed by Wojciech T. The text is written by Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen. The song is now mixed and sent to Poland for listening.

Musiikin reenaamista

Pekka A was here - InterGalactic FolkMusic Orchestra rehearsed some music. All of our songs are composed by Pekka. My part is to improvise with many different instruments - flutes, saxes, domra, recorders, Akai EWI, saxonette, clarinet... Nice!

Now all songs and poems of Jouko T's project are mixed and bounced to HardDisk. There's still the mastering to be done. Hopefully I can do it some day quite soon.

Takaisin Tampereelta

Back from Tampere, Finland. Sini, Hanna-Maaria and I were there for one night and two days. And it was so nice to visit there again - to meet friends and see an exhibition of H.R. Giger's art. While travelling back we stayed in Jyväskylä for some hours and met our boys - some eating, some chatting and being together. And it was so nice! (Juha H.)

I just keep on mixing music. It's that time of the year. Well, for me it seems to be all year round this way... So today I mixed three more Jouko T's songs. There are still two more to go.

Toivo-orkesteri

Toivo-orkesteri (=Hope Orchestra) had a longish rehearsal in Sumiainen. The band consists of some fifteen local musicians. Their material is quite folkish and mostly simple to play. Next week the orchestra is going to record their music in Suolahtisali. I'm just an add-on musician for the studio - and probably a helping hand in the process of saving the band's music. The material they perform is composed by the members of the orchestra. And that itself is valuable.

Some more mixing today. Five more Jouko T's songs are done and bounced to HardDisk. There are six more to go. Nice music anyways. And Pro Tools is so good to work with.

Musaa taas

Pekka A. visited and we had a musical rehearsal. It seems very likely that InterGalactic FolkMusic Orchestra is going to have some more musicians within a couple of weeks. Exciting times.

In the evening I mixed some Jouko T's songs. The project is well under way.

Toropaisen datsalla

While walking into the deep forest. - Toropainen had invited us to take part in the partying of Vernal Equinox. And we, Sini, me, three other people and a dog, walked there and back... It was no more than three or four kilometers to go there... But the snow was for half of the trekking knee deep and thus to go there and back was really hard. The party itself was wonderous! Thank you all so much! And now back home and after hot sauna everything is very much ok! (Juha H.)

Something to eat. Photo taken with my new mobile, Nokia E72. - All day long I just played many different instruments for hours and hours. So nice! And in the evening I recorded some bass guitar... (Juha H.)

Uusi puhelin

I bought a new mobile phone - Nokia E72. Now after some hours of studying and using it the whole feels good. Coming days'll tell for real. At the moment all is fine.

And in the evening I recorded alots of percussion instruments with Pro Tools.

The horrendously cold weather is gone for the time being. Now it's heavy snowing...

Pakkanen jatkuu

It's been very cold Winter. And freezing weather still keeps on biting hard. This morning the temperature here was -25 Celcius degrees. It's already March and it should be Spring - at least sort of. But alas no! Harsh Winter still continues...

In the other news I recorded some drums. And played flute, soprano sax, clarinet and domra for the fun of it.

Uusi Ensemble

Something else! Pekka Alava was here. We rehearsed material for a new band. It's going to perform Pekka's music, his songs. He writes his lyrics in English. The material is very much FolkRock. My part is mostly to improvise with many different instruments. Later we're going to ask one or two more musicians to play with us. Maybe the orchestra will be called InterGalactic FolkMusic Orhestra - or something as grand. (Juha H. ; photo: Sini)

While in the forest today. - Yesterday I began working with some material I vide-o-ed this week. Now the project is done and rendered to HardDisk. Vegas Pro 9 is fantastic!! (Juha H.)

One more sunny day. - I recorded two of my compositions into ProTools. They are going to be a part of a video - for other people... For a couple of days I've videoed material for the whole. It's been some really nice work. Hopefully I can make the video ready before the next week.

Musaa - Woijciech T , Transatlantic ja Stamina

I recorded one Woijchiech T's composition. The song is based on Veikko-Kalevi Riihinen's poem. Nice workin' ! Now only Sini's singing is missing.

While travelling today I listened to Transatlantic - their latest absolutely great album The Whirlwind - and Stamina and their new CD Viimeinen Atlantis.
